President/CEO

Lisa Jackson earned her Master’s degree in Rehabilitation from Emporia State University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling and Education from Emporia State University. In 2001, she earned her Rehabilitation Administration Certification and in 2002 she received the Outstanding Graduate Award. Lisa has been in the field of Developmental Disabilities for over 35 years, with 21 of those years at SLI, and has also been a CARF surveyor for over 25 years. She worked for SLI while completing her Master’s degree and returned to SLI in 2004 to serve as President/CEO.

Chief Finance Officer

Kathy Brayton earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree at Washburn University. Kathy received the SLI President’s Award in 2012, VAL Award for volunteer service hours in 2006, and the President’s USA Freedom Corps Volunteer Service Award in 2005.

Chief Program Officer

Tim Gorton graduated from Washburn University with a Bachelor’s Degree, has over 20 years of leadership in the IDD field, and is a military veteran. He has completed the Kansas Institute of Positive Behavior Supports program, Autism Waiver program as an Intensive Support Specialist, and Targeted Case Manager Program. Tim maintains an active Mental Health Technician License through the Kansas Board of Nursing. Tim utilizes his education and experience to provide support to SLI clients across their spectrum of varied needs.

Chief Technology and Organizational Assets Officer

Steve has been at SLI since 2008 and says he loves what he does, who he does it for, and it is a privilege to support the staff and persons we serve at SLI. Steve’s career began when he enlisted in the South Dakota Army National Guard in 1988, moved to Active Duty in 1990 for four years, and ended his term of service in the Kansas Army National Guard in 1996 with three military occupational specialties.

Chief Advancement and Community Engagement Officer

Karen graduated from John Brown University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. She has over 38 years of leadership, fundraising, and marketing experience with nonprofits in KC, Tulsa, and Topeka. She started nonprofit organizations in KC and Tulsa, has received multiple honors including “Excellence in Nonprofit Management from the Department of Housing and Urban Development, and has several certifications in fundraising and management.

Chief Compliance Officer

Doug received his Bachelors of Science degree in Organizational Management and Leadership and his Master’s degree in Business Administration at Friends University. He has been in the field of Developmental Disabilities for over 32 years. Doug started as a direct care professional and later pursued other positions in the field as a community living coordinator, night house manager, director, trainer, human resources, quality assurance, finance, management, and administration. Doug was the Executive Director of Mosiac prior to SLI.
